The first AXS connected wheels! With the 353 NSW, Zipp combine their most efficient rim profile with integrated tire pressure sensors. Designed for ambitious road cyclists, they are lightweight climbing wheels with maximum durability and high aerodynamic efficiency.
Their AXS wheel sensors integrated into the rim profile monitor the tire pressure in real time, without the need for an external component on the valve stem. This allows you to check and optimize your tire pressure values at any time while riding. Fine-tuning the air pressure allows you to adapt your speed and performance to changing conditions in the best possible way. Before the start, a green light shows you whether the tire pressure is correct and during the ride, real-time monitoring on your bike computer helps you to find the ideal setting and detect potential problems at an early stage.
The 353 NSW are not only the lightest wheels from Zipp, they are also more robust than ever. A revised carbon layup gives the wheels over 16% more impact resistance, while their characteristic wave-shaped rim form with 35 and 40 millimeter profile heights ensures an ideal combination of low weight and low air resistance with high crosswind stability.
With their 29.5 millimeter wide rim profile and 25 millimeter inner width, the rims are perfect for wide tires and modern setups with reduced tire pressure. Thanks to the wide profiles, the tires deform less, which further reduces rolling resistance. The combination of wider tires, larger volume and lower air pressure provides noticeably more comfort and reduces fatigue on demanding terrain. Impacts are absorbed by the tire and wheel system and not by the rider. The optimized rim profiles also improve the airflow between the tire and rim and increase aerodynamic efficiency when using wider tires. The rims are aerodynamically optimized for tires with a width of 30 millimetres and they harmonize perfectly with the exclusive Goodyear Fitment Series, which was specially developed for Zipp.
The ZR1 SL Premium hubs are equipped with smooth-running ceramic bearings. Compared to the previous model, the SL hubs are 30 grams lighter. The pawl freehub with 66 engagement points ensures an immediate response. Six offset pawls are organized in two groups of three pawls each, with three pawls always engaging simultaneously. This ensures that your pedaling power is transferred to the wheel particularly efficiently.
Total System Efficiency (TSE)
The 353 NSW wheels were developed using the TSE approach. The development goal was to find the best possible wheel design to overcome the speed barriers that exist under realistic riding conditions. These include wind resistance, gravity and rolling resistance as well as vibration losses in poor road conditions.
Zipp Lifetime Warranty
Zipp grants you a lifetime warranty on your Zipp wheel if used properly. The warranty also covers racing use and damage caused by riding errors as long as the wheel has been used for its intended purpose. The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and proof of purchase is mandatory!
NOTE: Due to the hookless profile, the Zipp 353 NSW wheels are only suitable for use with ETRTO-compliant tubeless tires. However, the corresponding tubeless tires can be used on the wheels with the TPU tube (optimized for use with the wheel sensor) included in the scope of delivery. You can find an overview of all compatible tires for your Zipp Hookless wheel here. The 353 NSW wheels are not approved for gravel use!
