Original Shimano chain lock for 12-speed Shimano chains. Chain locks allow chains to be closed without the hassle of riveting, and they also enable them to be opened without having to use the chain tool. The halves of a chain lock usually hold together very strongly, which is why chain link pliers are required to loosen them if necessary.
Note: Not compatible with 11-speed chains!
