SCOTT Addict RC Pro Sub5.9 by Dangerholm
SCOTT's list of new road bikes for the 2025 season is impressive. If you've been following the announcement of the new SCOTT Addict RC, the weight specifications will definitely have caught your attention. SCOTT has optimised the frame series to such an extent that the top model, for example, is no longer UCI-compliant because it is ‘simply’ too light: 5.9 kg. Such weights are only possible by rethinking the production of the centrepiece of a bike, the frame. The benchmark has now been set with the HMX SL in size M and is 640g.
While everyone nodded their heads in awe, Dangerholm thought to himself: there's still room for improvement! He took an HMX frame, the slightly heavier version in size L, which still weighs in at an impressive 749.9g. This frame received the usual loving treatment and a new finish. Not only the new handlebar/stem unit from Syncros - the IC-R100 SL - but also the two new seatposts SP-R100-SL and SP-R101-CF were used for the build. While the SL is the perfect choice for weight fetishists, the CF is Dangerholm's personal favourite, as the perfectly integrated rear light simply offers enormous added value.
The gears are shifted with the SRAM RED AXS. While the 1x drivetrain has 46 teeth at the front with the Extralite OctaPhase on an Extralite QRC-3S crank, the rear is shifted on a 10-36 RED cassette.
The wheels pick up on the colours of the drivetrain and also set fine accents with purple spoke nipples and the Extralite hubs in an exclusive R2BIKE edition. The unusual rims come from Light Bicycle and have a rim height of 50mm. The inner rim width is 25mm and is therefore ideal for use as an all-rounder.
Just in case... you're not a fan of a 1x set-up on a road bike and would prefer to ride 2x, you'd have to add 190g. Dangerholm plans to use THM or Carbon-Ti cranks, SRAM RED front derailleur and a 10-30 cassette.
