Dangerholm? Priorbike? How does that fit together and what kind of bike are we actually talking about here?
Prior comes from Latin and can be translated as "the first", "the former" or even "the previous". We found it a fitting name for test setups by Dangerholm that "disappear" again after some time because they only served as a design study. Nevertheless, interesting solutions can be found on these bikes in particular, which are worth a closer look. We would like to present you the first Priorbike by Dangerholm and show you the exciting details.
On the one hand, Dangerholm tested new paint finishes on this bike, on the other hand, he dedicated himself to cable integration. The basis for this bike is a Scott Spark Tuned frame, which here comes in a beautiful golden-red paint job. Dangerholm's highlight among the parts is the crank from Sturdy Cycles. This is a 3D printed titanium crank ? it comes with a matching milled titanium chainring and corresponding rear derailleur rollers from Sturdy Cycles. Another hidden detail is the CeramicSpeed SLT headset. SLT stands for Solid Lube Technology. Here, the bearing is filled with a solid, plastic-like material instead of conventional grease. This means that neither water nor dirt can penetrate the bearings - there is no need for maintenance. The Syncros Silverton SL wheels are used. The rims and spokes are made from one piece of carbon, with the carbon fibres in the spokes extending from one side of the wheel to the other. The spokes are then pressed apart and the hub shell is inserted and attached. All in all, this makes for responsive wheels that deliver an incredible ride. Impressive, isn't it? The Xpedo M-Force 8Ti pedals are a relatively inexpensive tuning part. They weigh 213g and are thus almost 100g lighter than standard XTR pedals. If you can do without the great comfort of an XTR pedal, the Xpedo is an exciting alternative.
With the Continental tyres, however, Dangerholm goes a bit overboard ;-) With almost 1.1 kg per tyre, they are quite heavy. However, the combination of short suspension travel and really grippy tyres is outrageously fun on the trail.
