MAXXIS tires Minion DHR II 29 x 2.40 WT 3C MaxxGrip TR DoubleDown
With a completely new tread design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity driving. With the side lugs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even better cornering, he has extreme cornering. The center tunnels have beveled tunnels for better acceleration. Notches on the lugs improve the transition when turning in curves. Part of the center lugs have a paddle shape, they dig in during hard braking and help to keep the bike under control.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass design optimizes the profile layout and tire shape on today's wider wheel rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and get on square wheels too angular shape and thus not exactly optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work perfectly on all rims with an internal dimension between 30 and 40 mm.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
tube loose tires have many advantages: you can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube , the breakdown risk also decreases. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for assembly with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of the TR tire is like a real UST tube peeling completely covered with a rubber layer. As a result, tube assembly on all rims with standard dimensions is already successful on initial inflation and with little liquid. Even normal MAXXIS MTB tires can be mounted like tires of other manufacturers Tubeless with sealant, since the carcass fabrics are very dense.
Officially released for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS are only the new MAXXIS TR models. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of ammonia-containing sealant. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months.
Doubledown tires are built like downhill tires: two carcass layers reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. But thanks to two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) carcass plies and aramid puff, they are lighter than downhill tires, much stronger and sturdier than TR + EXO tires, making them ideal for tough enduro riding.
The well-known 3C downhill mix, which many of the best downhillers have trusted for years, is now called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate in grip and cushioning for unparalleled traction on downhills with three different rubber compounds. The base layer ensures low roll resistance and stability of the tread lugs. The compound in the tread center provides the best grip on any surface, while the extremely dampened mixture on the shoulder lugs provides the best possible grip.
