Not so easy to answer. Because the SRAM transmission derailleur cage is bent by design. This makes it almost impossible to tell whether it has been bent after an accident and is still within the factory specification or not. Compatible with all SRAM AXS Transmission rear derailleurs with aluminum cage, the checker allows you to determine at a glance to what extent the cage is bent. To do this, the rear derailleur is first moved to lock position B and the gauge is placed on top. The tool grips directly onto the derailleur pulleys and, in the best case, closes seamlessly on both pulleys. If this is not the case, the derailleur cage must be straightened or replaced in order to fully restore the functionality of the derailleur system.

The popular 3D printing process Fused Deposition Modeling is used to manufacture the control gauge. With an exceptionally high resolution, a 0.4 millimeter nozzle prints the molten thermoplastic filament in extremely thin layers of just 0.08 millimeters onto a platform. The individual strands of plastic harden in the air and bond with the existing layer underneath. This process is repeated until the desired shape of the workpiece is completely printed. The result is so fine that it only becomes apparent at second glance that it is a 3D-printed component.
