Each derailleur roller is milled from a piece of aluminum in Hope's typical design and then anodized. The lower derailleur roller has special teeth with a narrow and wide shape that alternates, this is intended to ensure a particularly secure hold and low-noise running of the chain. The large deep groove ball bearings with special seals ensure low-friction, long-lasting operation. In addition, the labyrinth seals in the spacers prevent dirt from penetrating the bearing .
