Maximum lightweight construction meets uncompromising efficiency: Weighing just 14g per set, these derailleur pulleys are among the lightest on the market and save weight in a crucial, often overlooked area. The result is noticeably improved performance combined with maximum stability.
Continuously refined over more than 15 years, the design is based on a unique construction architecture that enables extremely low rolling resistance. Custom-made stainless steel-ceramic bearings with exceptionally low friction and reliable sealing ensure exceptionally smooth operation and a long service life. A dual-bearing arrangement is used for each pulley to ensure maximum precision during shifting. This twin-bearing design effectively stabilizes the system and virtually eliminates lateral play—comparable to the bearing structure of a front wheel hub. A roller with only a single bearing cannot achieve this level of lateral stiffness.
Manufactured using a 3D machining process, the body and tooth profile consist of a highly wear-resistant, self-lubricating polymer that ensures both durability and efficient operation.
PHB
In the Extralite range, the abbreviation PH denotes the variant with so-called “Phased Teeth,” i.e., a phase-shifted tooth profile. This specially tuned tooth geometry ensures smoother chain guidance and supports more precise shifting performance. Unlike the PH version, the PHB variant is specifically designed for modern SRAM drivetrains with flat-top chains.
Note: Depending on the rear derailleur, longer mounting bolts may be required for installation, e.g., Extralite ExtraBolt 12.2. Extralite recommends ExtraBolt 12.2C or M5x15.5 mm for SRAM AXS Road 1x. Check the required bolt length on the respective rear derailleur. Use original bolts only if the length and thread engagement are correct. Tighten each suitable mounting bolt to 2.0 Nm and then check the lateral play of the rear derailleur pulleys. If there is still slight play, tighten the bolt another 1/10 turn and check again. Repeat if necessary, but do not exceed 2.5 Nm. Do not overtighten the bolts, as this can reduce smoothness and damage the bearings.
