DT SWISS Thrust Axle HR RWS Thru Axle 12x142 mm | E-Thru
The innovative impeller fastening system from DT Swiss! Instead of the eccentric clamping principle developed more than 80 years ago for racing bikes, the clamping force is built up by the tightening of a screw connection with a lever.
The operation is very simple: tighten the tensioner by turning the lever clockwise as far as possible by hand (minimum 15 Nm). Depending on the frame design, this can also be done by repeatedly tilting the lever. Then lift the lever and turn it to the desired position - the impeller is secure and fixed.
Because there are no plastic parts in the flow of the RWS, the clamping force is independent of the temperature and thus the RWS is 100% disc-brake-compatible! Due to the direct transmission of the lever force to the thread, the RWS can achieve a clamping force of up to 50% higher than with conventional quick-release clamps. This is not only safer, but also increases stiffness, which is particularly noticeable with disc brakes.
