BIKE AHEAD COMPOSITES frame "THE FRAME" | UD Carbon
One name - one mission. With "THE FRAME" XC frame, the ladies and gentlemen of the German carbon manufacturer Bike Ahead Composites present their first own frame. The company, based in Veitshöchheim in Bavaria, a municipality in the district of Würzburg, was founded in 2010 by Christian Gemperlein and has dedicated itself to the production of high-quality and innovative carbon products. In cooperation with the Portuguese manufacturer Carbon Team, the frames are produced under the most modern and progressive conditions, with the usual high standards of Bike Ahead Composites in Vouzela, Portugal. The subsequent refinement of the frame and the finish are carried out in the factory near Würzburg to ensure the highest quality standards here too.Even though "THE FRAME" is the first official frame from Bike Ahead Composites, the Veitshöchheim-based company has been active in the processing and lamination of carbon frames for some time and already produces frames for Stoll Bikes and Last on site. The result is a cross country rocket that is light, beautiful and of course damn fast!
one-piece monocoque construction
The special feature lies in the way the frame is constructed. The frame consists of a monocoque and thus enables an extremely clean and fine surface that does not need to hide under paint. Bike Ahead Composites therefore dispenses with this to save weight on the one hand, but also to showcase the beauty of the material in conjunction with the high-quality workmanship. The finish therefore fits perfectly with all Bike Ahead products.
UDH™ derailleur hanger
By using the UDH™ derailleur hanger, Bike Ahead Composites has equipped this frame for the future. Developed by SRAM, it can be used by any frame manufacturer and should put an end to the confusion. In addition, it can protect the rear derailleur from damage by allowing it to move backwards in the event of impacts. The small chamfer on the inside prevents chain jamming if the chain does fall off small sprockets.
NOTE: Internal cable routing for dropper post is only possible in conjunction with electronic shifting, as the cable guide is used. Please note the maximum torque of 4 Nm for the saddle clamp supplied.
