With the Scott XX SL, Gustav a.k.a. Dangerholm has made a dream come true for us. In August 2022 we celebrated our 15th anniversary as r2-bike. This anniversary should be manifested with a suitable bicycle. So the idea came up that Dangerholm could paint us a Scott frame according to his ideas. Our only requirement: the favourite company colour orange had to be included. Gustav had once again put in a lot of work and so this beautiful masterpiece was created.
However, the assembly of the bike had to wait. At the time of completion, there were already rumours that Sram was tinkering with a new shifting group. We all agreed that this had to be installed on the bike, of course. Just in time for the start of the 2023 season, the time had finally come. The new group came on the market and the assembly of the Scott XX SL could begin.
The Scott Spark RC SL frame provides the basis for the bike build. The newly painted frame is perfect for a light and powerful down country bike with 120 mm travel. One of the highlights is definitely the new Sram Eagle Transmission XX SL shifting group. This is a consistent further development of the successful Eagle AXS components and improves the benchmark in terms of shifting performance. This is made possible, among other things, by the use of Sram UDH technology. UDH - Universal Derailleur Hanger - is a universal derailleur hanger developed by SRAM. In the case of SRAM Transmission components, the geometry is used for the rear derailleur and the derailleur hanger is left out. This creates an extremely robust connection between frame and rear derailleur. Another advantage: the rear derailleur is always perfectly aligned with the cassette. This increases the shifting performance considerably. Even under full load, reliable shifting is no problem. In line with the new development on the rear derailleur, there are of course further developments on the cassette, chain, crank and controller. However, explaining the technical features would go beyond.

In keeping with the character of a down-country bike, a RockShox SID Ultimate with 3-pos adjustable cartridge is installed at the front. The SCOTT remote controls and adjusts the fork and shock at the same time. The bike is accelerated with a light sub 1200g wheelset with NONPLUS hubs, Sapim CX-Ray spokes and 30 mm wide (inside) DUKE Lucky Jack SLS4 rims. The MAXXIS Ikon tyres in 2.35" width provide the necessary grip and traction. To bring the bike down to well under 10 kg, a lot more carbon parts are needed. The seat post and stem handlebar unit are made by the noble manufacturer DARIMO in Spain. Both parts are ridiculously light at 256.7g. It is always amazing what is possible nowadays. The high-tech material carbon is also used on the saddle. The saddle, made by BEAST in Germany, is amazingly comfortable and the fine Alcantara cover provides a pleasant seat for your rear end.
The bike is stopped with powerful brakes from Trickstuff. Even the 2-piston Piccola version is so powerful that you can hardly believe the 160g per brake. In the end, we have an impressive full with 9562.4g in front of us, which not only climbs the mountains easily, but also has plenty of reserves to let it rip downhill. And it is also beautiful. We are in love!
