Modern cross-country races are becoming tougher and more technically demanding for both riders and equipment. Whereas a few years ago a high-end XC wheelset had to be light and stiff, the requirement profile has now become much broader. With the 1ZERO HiTOP wheels, Zipp has taken this development into account. True to their company slogan "Making you Faster", the Zipp engineers have developed wheels that help the rider to master technical single trails and angled sections with less effort. Weighing just 1325 grams (wheelset), the wheels can be accelerated light-footedly. Thanks to the HiTOP layup technology in combination with just 24 spokes, the carbon rims can adapt to the terrain. This means you can ride with more speed over wuzel carpets and rock gardens and have to use less energy to bring your bike back up to speed. At the same time, the wheels offer sufficient durability and safety reserves to be used on a trail bike with 130 millimetres of suspension travel and a system weight of up to 130 kilograms (rider and wheel). However, the flex of the wheels remains so low that the spoke tension remains sufficiently high and no spoke nipples can come loose.
Another highlight is the rim profile of the 1ZERO HiTOP wheels: with an inner width of 30 millimetres, the hookless profile provides modern cross-country tires with excellent support at low air pressures and prevents the tires from buckling after jumps or in fast bends. To minimize the risk of tire and rim damage in the event of hard punctures, the rim flanges of the wheels are extremely wide and have a rounded transition to the upper side. This means that the pressure from punctures is transferred to the tire from a relatively large area without sharp edges, which significantly reduces the risk of snakebites.
Quarq TyreWiz 2.0 tire pressure monitoring system
Optimum air pressure is a decisive factor for the maximum performance of modern wheels. With the TyeWiz 2.0, you always have your air pressure in view, receive feedback on fine adjustments on the go and are warned in the event of a loss of pressure. The practical sensor sends real-time air pressure data via Bluetooth to the AXS smartphone app or your bike computer. In addition, red and green LEDs on the sensor indicate whether the air pressure is within the defined range. With its integrated design and a weight of just 10 grams, the TyreWiz 2.0 fits perfectly into the wheel design. With an accuracy of +/-2%, the air pressure is displayed with a resolution of 0.1 PSI. The supplied CR1632 battery supplies the TyreWiz with power for up to 300 operating hours.
Zipp ZM2 SL hub
The ZM2 SL rear hub impresses with its low weight and slim design. With 66 cogging points per wheel revolution, the hub has a very direct power connection so that every acceleration is converted into propulsion without delay.
Zipp Lifetime Warranty
Zipp grants you a lifetime warranty on your Zipp wheel when used properly. The warranty also covers racing use and damage caused by riding errors as long as the wheel has been used for its intended purpose. The warranty only applies to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is mandatory!
