The brake for your next bike adventure.
In collaboration with professionals like Aaron Gwin and Brendan Fairclough, a brake was developed that feels more than at home in both downhill and enduro areas. Radically tuned for downhill riding, the DH-R cannot be disturbed even on long, demanding trails. The brakes were completely redesigned for this purpose. The now slightly slimmer brake levers provide even more braking power with their larger 9 mm pistons and an adjusted gear ratio. To provide the necessary stability, 2.3 mm thick and up to 223 mm large brake discs are used, which dissipate heat better and thus deliver consistently good braking performance and are less prone to distortion. This means that ringing brake discs are a thing of the past.
The brake pads have also been revised. The new performance resin (blue) has been optimized in terms of heat stability and now requires less time for the braking phase. If you still don't like the coverings, you can of course resort to metallic or semi-metallic coverings. In addition to the original pads, all Shimano Saint pads are suitable. Further optimizations were made in the area of the brake fluid and the lines. The optimized formulation is more heat-resistant and has a lower viscosity. Reducing the line cross-section results in greater pressure stability and therefore more direct power transmission. In addition to the brutal braking power and stability, the brake also impresses with its good controllability.
Appropriate matchmakers ensure a tidy cockpit.

Note: The brake lever and the brake caliper with cable are delivered separately. All components are already filled and vented. So all you have to do is attach the cable to the bike, shorten it accordingly and install the lever. Bleeding is not necessary if handled correctly. If something goes wrong, you will find the right ventilation kit in our shop.
