Oval chainrings have rightly for some time a firm place in the market. The oval shape smoothes the force peaks during a pedal turn. Especially on steep ramps, they help to protect the muscles. With the Eagle Direct Mount chainrings, SRAM is bringing oval chainrings to market with their X-Sync 2 tooth profiles optimized for 12-speed and 11-speed drives.
The X-Sync 2 tooth profile ensures a much quieter running of the chain and better self-cleaning in muddy conditions compared to their 11-speed predecessors. With the proven alternating thick-thin tooth profile, which is matched to the Eagle chains, the X-Sync 2 chainrings keep the chain always securely in place. The chainrings are available with 32 to 38 teeth. In the BOOST version with 3 mm offset which is chain line shifted by 3 millimeters to the outside in order to compensate the vesetzte further outward cassette when using BOOST hub on the rear wheel.
