The Ultimate Sealant 2.0 is based on an improved formula compared to its predecessor. According to Silca, the new formula now uses both synthetic and natural latex, which is a unique selling point. It should lead to a more homogeneous dispersion of the so-called "FibreFoam", i.e. the single-strand carbon fibers added to the sealant, which are responsible for plugging holes in the tire. Together with the optimized length of the fibres, this results in the second improvement of the sealant compared to the old version. Thanks to the more even distribution of the fibers, the new Ultimate Sealant can now also be filled through valve cores and no longer has to be filled directly into the tire as before.

How does it work?
The exceptional performance of Ultimate Sealant is based on a combination of advanced technologies. First, the groundbreaking FiberFoam technology was refined by optimizing the carbon fiber component. Using state-of-the-art processes, two key improvements have been achieved: shorter, highly uniform carbon fiber strands and the isolation of individual carbon fibers as active sealants.

Why is this important?
Shorter strands throughout ensure a more even distribution of carbon fibers in the sealant. This minimizes clumping and allows the fibers to be transported in the liquid. In addition, the isolation of individual carbon fibers maximizes their effectiveness as an occlusive agent. Each fiber acts like a tiny thread ready to bridge and seal holes.

Note: For optimal results, Silca recommends the use of tensilized polypropylene (TPP) rim tapes, such as those sold by Stan's, Tesa and others. These are generally opaque tapes with no imprint and are much stronger and more abrasion resistant than vinyl-based tapes.
