The WH-M9200 wheelset also puts you right at the front. Thanks to its low weight, uphill rides and intermediate sprints are no problem for you. Shimano relies on carbon for the rims. The perfectly processed UD carbon fibres give the wheelset an elegant look and immediately convert every acceleration into propulsion.The surface is also very resistant, so that external influences have little effect on it and the rim is forgiving of the occasional riding error.
Thanks to the enormous inner width of over 29 mm, even wide tires are perfectly supported in the rim well and therefore offer you the best grip and comfort. In addition, everything is already prepared for tubeless use ex works, which significantly reduces the susceptibility to punctures.
The rims have an asymmetrical rim profile, which enables a more even spoke angle. This optimization of the spoke angle has a number of advantages. The tension on both sides can be better aligned, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the wheel as a whole. The normally direction-dependent lateral stiffness is also adjusted, making the wheel more stable.
The spokes are a special feature. These are not made of stainless steel as usual, but of a high-quality titanium alloy. Shimano is thus breaking completely new ground. The biggest advantage is the lower weight and higher tensile strength, which makes the wheel particularly torsion-resistant.
At the center are Shimano's own XTR hubs. This is the first time that the Japanese company has used high-quality industrial bearings, whose high bearing quality and perfect sealing ensure smooth running and a long service life. They are also practically maintenance-free and there is no need for time-consuming adjustment of the bearing play.
A toothed disk freewheel works on the rear wheel. In addition to its distinctive sound, it has a very small pressure angle of 3.5° and thus reduces the free travel to a minimum.
