At first glance, the BL-M9120 servo-wave brake lever has barely changed from its predecessor. From a technical point of view as well, the master piston and the mechanics were largely taken over by the M9020. However, the suspension of the lever has been fundamentally revised. The wider clamp in the center of the lever not only provides more space for remote lever mounting, it also provides significantly more rigidity. In combination with a support of the master piston on the handlebar, the brake lever offers a significantly more direct brake feel. According to Shimano, this design increased stiffness and braking power by 10% and achieved a 30% faster response. For optimum accessibility, the reach of the lever can be adjusted without tools.
A revised line system and the use of magnesium (housing), the weight could be kept low. The 4-piston caliper of the M9120 has a one-piece aluminum design, which has better thermal properties compared to magnesium.Technical specifications:
