The new XTR crank will also play its part. The new, very eye-catching design already shows that a winner is coming. The Cross Country version shines with low weight and yet outstanding stiffness. This is achieved through the further development of Shimano's proven cold forging process, which significantly optimizes the use of materials while still generating a high level of stability. In addition, the hard surface ensures good resistance to external influences or flying stones. The Hollowtech II shaft standard and the simple attachment of the chainring using a lockring have been retained. The Q-factor of 168 mm gives the racer a relaxed leg position and the crank arms do not touch the chainstays even with slightly wider rear triangles.
