SHIMANO SAINT brake lever BL-M820 | left
At Shimano, SAINT stands for absolute durability, robustness and maximum functionality. This brake is in no way inferior. Anyone looking for the ultimate deceleration is well advised to use this lever. If you do have a crash and the brake lever is defective, you can use this replacement lever to get your brakes working again. These brake levers reflect the Japanese company's many years of experience in the development of brake systems and are easy to fit thanks to the folding clamp. To save space on the handlebars, a compatible shift lever can be attached to the I-SPEC B mount. This also keeps the cockpit tidy.
The brake lever can be operated with two fingers. The ribbed surface of the brake lever gives you a secure feeling at all times, even on rough slopes. Of course, the technical details are also impressive. Thanks to the Servo-Wave mechanism, Reach-Adjust and Free-Stroke, every braking maneuver is a pleasure.
Servo-Wave action
The brake lever takes up a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement. This means that the brake pads come into contact with the brake disk early on. The transmission ratio then changes and the greater part of the lever travel can be used for braking force and precise metering.
Reach-Adjust and Free-Stroke
Both systems are used for individual adjustment to the rider and their preferences. The grip width can be adjusted to the respective hand size without the need for tools, meaning that the optimum braking force is always achieved even with shorter fingers.
It is also possible to adjust the pressure point. The earlier this is set, the shorter the free travel on the lever. Here too, everyone has their own personal preferences.
One-way bleeding system
This technology simplifies maintenance of the brake system and makes bleeding much easier. As the mineral oil only travels in one direction, air bubbles have no chance of hiding. Any reasonably experienced mechanic will therefore always be able to set the optimum pressure point.
Note: The matching SM-BH90-SBLS brake hose is recommended for installation.
