Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are apparent. However, conventional racing bike components have reached their limits with these bikes. That's why Shimano has developed its own shifting groups especially for this type of bike.
There is a risk of the chain jumping off the sprockets, especially on bumpy ground. This can sometimes lead to bad falls. This can be avoided with the Shimano Gravel rear derailleurs. A built-in stabilizer reliably prevents chain slap and keeps everything in place. This can also be switched off when moving on paved roads.
The electronic GRX RX817 rear derailleur ensures high shifting precision even under the most difficult conditions. When the shifter is actuated, the chain changes the sprocket without using any force. Even under medium and high loads, gear changes take place without any major noise development.
Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim, low-profile design not only looks good, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or branches getting in the way in the event of a fall.
