MAXXIS Re-Fuse [Gen.2] GR 28 | 700 x 40C TR MaxxShield
The redesigned Re-Fuse features a new tread pattern and rubber compound, as well as improved puncture protection. All these improvements make this tire faster, lighter, and more durable than ever before. It remains the top choice for long-distance rides, and its enhancements also deliver a sportier riding experience. The full-surface diamond-pattern tread on the previous Re-Fuse has been replaced by a smooth center tread on the new model. This reduces rolling resistance to a minimum. Nevertheless, the new micro-knobs on the sides provide secure grip when cornering. The new tread also features a full-silica rubber compound that drastically reduces rolling resistance while improving grip in wet conditions. These characteristics allow the Re-Fuse to be used as an all-season tire.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months.
MaxxShield (MS)
MaxxShield is the ultimate puncture protection. It combines SilkShield all-around protection with our K2 Layer (Kevlar Composite).
DualCompound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a single tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the compounds based on the desired properties of the tire.
