HUTCHINSON Touareg Race TLR 700 x 40C Tire, Black/Tan
Developed and manufactured in France, the Touareg Race was designed specifically to meet the demands of modern gravel racing. It combines the proven high-performance technology of the ultra-fast Caracal Race semislick with the versatile tread pattern of the Touareg, creating the perfect balance of speed, control, and versatility. Compared to the previous version with a Hardskin casing, the Touareg Race rolls a full 35% more efficiently. Paired with a Caracal Race on the rear wheel, the Touareg Race creates a setup that’s perfectly suited for 90% of all modern gravel races: maximum traction and precise control on the front wheel meet maximum efficiency on the rear wheel.
The Touareg Race is available in 40 mm, 45 mm, and 50 mm widths and is perfectly matched to modern, wide rims. Choose between the classic black version or the striking Tan Wall version with brown sidewalls.
SwiftEasy Casing
This groundbreaking casing construction ensures an extremely supple and smooth-rolling tire. The design uses a 2-ply 127 TPI casing that does not overlap beneath the tread. An additional layer from bead to bead ensures perfect tubeless performance. As a result, there are only two layers beneath the tread—as opposed to three layers in overlapping constructions—which significantly improves the tire’s performance.
Mach Tread 3.0
With the Mach Tread3.0, Hutchinson sets a new standard for speed and efficiency. Thanks to its outstanding rebound properties, the rubber compound offers extremely high flexibility, resulting in extremely low rolling resistance and perfect grip. At the same time, engineers succeeded in making the Mach Tread 3.0 75% more tear-resistant than its previous high-performance rubber compound. This ensures high resistance to cuts, even on challenging terrain.
Racing Lab
Hutchinson Racing Lab tires are developed through close collaboration between engineers, tire designers, and world-class athletes at Hutchinson’s historic headquarters in Chalette-sur-Loing. Thanks to in-house production, prototypes can be manufactured, tested under the harshest conditions, and further refined in a very short time.
