The heart of the helmet is the Spherical Technology powered by Mips, which works according to the ball-and-socket principle. It reduces rotational forces in certain impact scenarios and thus significantly increases protection for the brain. This system is supplemented by Progressive Layering with two-layer Nanobead EPS foam of varying degrees of hardness for even more comprehensive management of the forces acting on the helmet. Maximum cooling is provided by 24 generous Wind Tunnel ventilation openings, the size of which is optimized by the integrated Aura reinforcement arch. Internal air channels direct fresh air over the head, while Ionic+ antimicrobial padding ensures a permanently comfortable wearing climate. HARD SHELL WITH IN-MOLD HARDBODY™
The two-piece shell combines a robust outer hard shell with a polycarbonate lower shell, which is firmly fused to the inner lining and ensures durability without additional weight.
INTEGRATED MIPS® BRAIN PROTECTION SYSTEM
All Giro helmets are designed to reduce as much energy as possible and meet and exceed strict safety standards. The goal of Giro helmets equipped with Integrated Mips is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets with this technology can reduce the rotational force that can be transmitted to the rider's brain in certain impacts.
SPHERICAL TECHNOLOGY
Mips® Spherical Technology uses a spherical joint design that diverts rotational forces away from the brain in the event of an impact by allowing the outer shell to move around the inner shell. At the same time, the system prevents direct contact of hard plastic or sliding surfaces with the skin.
