The developers at GEMINI have been surrounded by bicycles since their earliest youth and now apply their acquired knowledge of composite materials—gained from years of experience designing motorcycles, bicycles, and components—with the utmost precision.
With this newly developed seatpost, the Spanish company is now expanding its product line. As with their handlebars, great attention has been paid to detail. The clamping mechanism, for example, has been completely reimagined. The result is a patent-pending system in which the saddle is secured with a bolt from above. The threaded sleeve for the screw connection is integrated directly into the seatpost’s forged-carbon unibody. This saves weight and makes the component significantly sturdier. In addition, during development, care was taken to ensure that the clamping surface against the seat stays is as large as possible to avoid stress peaks and secure the saddle to the seatpost as effectively as possible. The seatpost is specifically designed for the Specialized Tarmac SL8.
The Älsak is made from the best carbon fiber currently available on the market—Mitsubishi MR70. It was developed specifically for the most demanding customers in the aerospace industry and is the key to greater comfort and safety. Countless tests in the lab and on the trail confirm the perfect symbiosis of design and material, which provides optimal conditions for racing.
Titanium bolts and threaded sleeves underscore the seatpost’s high-quality feel and ensure that every last possible gram is saved.
