Today, the cycling-enthusiast Garbaruk brothers apply the experience and knowledge they gained to the production of bicycle parts. Every step—from design and production to surface finishing—takes place under one roof. 7075-T6 aluminum from Germany is the raw material from which Garbaruk’s chainrings are precision CNC-milled. The chainrings feature several design elements that set them apart from the competition.
Narrow-wide teeth
To keep the chain securely in place even without a chain guide, the teeth have a special profile consisting of alternating narrow and wide teeth. To ensure this even under very rough and harsh conditions, the teeth on Garbaruk chainrings are manufactured to be approximately 40% longer than standard teeth. Furthermore, the teeth are shaped so that the chainring functions very well even in muddy conditions. Dirt and mud are effectively removed as the chain runs over them.
VCLT (Variable ChainLine Technology)
Garbaruk’s chainrings feature a variable chainline that depends on the number of teeth. Other manufacturers typically use a fixed chainline, which must be selected so that even larger chainrings do not touch the chainstay. The smaller the Garbaruk chainring, the closer it can be positioned to the chainstay. This results in an even more optimal chainline, as the chainring is aligned almost directly in the center relative to the cassette.
