The Continental Race King is a true classic among racing all-rounders and has been significantly improved for the 2019 season! The most important new feature is the ability to use the tire tubeless, which makes it even more versatile and powerful. The construction of the tire now consists of a carcass material with a density of 3/180 TPI, i.e. 60 TPI per layer, which ensures a good balance between flexibility and stability. The tire compound used is the universal PureGrip, which rolls very well and also offers excellent grip on wet surfaces.

PureGrip compound
Based on the activated silica compound, the company worked purposefully towards a compound technology in the performance segment. After intensive development work, the result from Continental's Korbach research and development department was a new compound technology with outstanding grip and cross-country properties. The new rubber compound with the self-explanatory name PureGrip joins Continental's BlackChili Compound and is used in performance products in the race and mountain bike segments. Here it ensures long-lasting traction and high mileage for Continental tires, which are manufactured exclusively in the production facility in Hefei (Asia).

ShieldWall System
The ShieldWall System combines the optimum combination of high puncture protection and optimum smooth running with low weight. This is made possible by an additional, all-round puncture protection layer consisting of a finely woven cross-weave. This makes the tire highly resistant to punctures and injuries. Despite the additional layer, the tire has very good cushioning properties and is highly flexible to adapt perfectly to the surface. The revolutionary Tubeless Ready base enables easy and uncomplicated mounting of the tire. Conti Revo-Sealant seals reliably.
