These tires are among the highest quality tires produced by Continental. They are sewn by hand at the factory in Korbach and set special standards in terms of workmanship and quality.
Double VectranBreaker
Vectran ™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran ™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran ™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran ™ have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Higher puncture resistance and lower weight are the advantages of the Vectran breaker. Vectran is more cut-resistant than aramid, 5 times more tensile than steel and lighter than a nylon thread, without affecting rolling resistance. This makes it the ideal protective layer for tires. Vectran was developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries.
DuraSkin
Tires with DuraSkin® sidewall protection have to be able to take a beating. They are used in the most adverse conditions. On messenger bikes, the tires slide along curbs, on touring bikes they cross continents without wearing through, in racing they have to pass endurance tests such as Paris-Roubaix. The high-quality polyamide fabric reliably protects the sidewall of the tire and prepares it for the toughest conditions. These tires stand out from the crowd thanks to their brown sidewall.
