In contrast to hubs or bottom brackets, the ball bearings in the rear triangle or headset do not rotate continuously. As a result, grease can be pushed to the side over time and is no longer in the place where it is needed. The clever minds at Ceramicspeed have tackled this problem and developed the SLT (Solid Lubrication Technology) technology.
The main focus here was not on smooth running, but on a permanent oil film. The stainless steel balls lie in a solid plastic polymer, which is equipped with countless micropores. These contain the lubricating fluid. It is always distributed in the quantity required for smooth running and a long service life.
In addition, the "solid" inner life prevents the seals on both sides from being pressed inwards and water from penetrating in the event of mechanical impact from outside, e.g. when cleaning with a high-pressure jet. Vertical or axial forces can also be better absorbed and distributed, which definitely increases durability.
Stainless steel was chosen for its corrosion resistance. This means that even aggressive substances such as salts or chemicals have no chance of damaging the bearings.
The ball bearings are developed and produced in Denmark.
