WOLFTOOTH adapter RoadLink aluminum
A small adapter with a big effect. With the Wolftooth Roadlink it is possible to use a wide-range cassette with a wider translation range with Shimano road bike rear derailleurs. The Roadlink is simply mounted between the derailleur hanger and the rear derailleur and thus moves the rear derailleur further down. This prevents the upper jockey wheel on the largest sprocket from being too close to the cassette. The Roadlink is particularly interesting for converting cyclocross or racing bikes to a 1x drive. The missing 2nd chainring can be compensated with a wider gear ratio on the cassette. But the Roadlink can also be useful on 2-speed drives for coping with extreme angle in order to have a lifebelt on the bike with an 11-36 or 11-40 cassette.
NOTE: For 2-speed drives, at least one medium-length rear derailleur cage must be installed and the maximum capacity of the rear derailleur must also be taken into account.
Possible combinations ( 10-speed and 11-speed cassette):
11-32: not required (medium rear derailleur works without Roadlink)
11-34: 1x and 2x drivetrain
11-36: 1x and 2x drivetrain
11-40: 1x and 2x drivetrain
11-42: not supported
10-42: not supported
