ROTOR ALDHU Carbon crank arms for road bikes
With the ALDHU Carbon, ROTOR is launching the lightest crank in the company's history. The name is an abbreviation for the legendary Tour de France climb of Alpe d'Huez, where Carlos Sastre laid the foundation for overall Tour victory with Rotor Q-Rings in 2008, giving ROTOR one of the biggest victories in the company's history.
Four years of development again resulted in a modular crank system, but with significantly less weight and a significant increase in stiffness. The crank arms of the ALDHU Carbon undercut the aluminum version by a whopping 100g. This is made possible by the optimal use of high-end carbon fibers. In addition, the absolute vertical and horizontal stiffness of the cranks has been increased by 11% and 36% respectively. ROTOR uses the specially developed TWIN LEG TECHNOLOGY to minimize power losses when pedalling due to axle torsion. This refers to the perfect interplay between the crank arms and the stable 30 mm crankshaft which, with the patented interface, enables simple assembly and yet a tight fit.
The new crank, made from high-end carbon, is also visually enhanced with a fantastic finish, making it an unmistakable piece of jewelry on any bike.
The ALDHU crank system has a modular design for maximum adaptability. The chainline can be adapted for standard and offset configurations using 2 different shafts. Whether ROTOR INspider Powermeter, various 110 millimeter 4-hole spiders, ROTOR's Direct Mount chainring combinations or 1-speed Direct Mount chainrings, countless combination options are available to the user. For optimum adjustment of the oval ROTOR Q-Rings chainrings, the OCP mount system (Optimum Chainring Position) has been further refined. Using a combination of different positions of the crank arms on the crankshaft and a finely graduated spider mount, the position of the chainrings can be optimally adjusted in 1-degree increments.
The crank arms can be used with the matching modular ALDHU aluminum crank axles in 30 mm outer diameter (optional accessory) with a variety of corresponding bottom brackets in frames with PF30, BSA, BBright (Cervélo) and BB30 bottom bracket shells.
