A worn chain is not only difficult to shift, it also ruins chainrings and cassette in a very short time. The CC-3.2 chain wear gauge guarantees a precise wear measurement of 5- to 12-speed chains, so that you can recognize and replace a worn chain in good time. If the measuring tip is completely immersed in the chain link when it is placed on it, the tolerance limit of the elongation has been reached. For different chain types, the gauge has an indicator for 0.5% and an indicator for 0.75% elongation. Replacing the chain is recommended by most manufacturers for 5- to 9-speed chains with a maximum elongation of 0.75% and for 10- to 12-speed chains with a maximum of 0.5%.
