The Meilenstein ART wheelset represents a new benchmark in innovation, precision and performance in modern cycling. Developed over a period of almost four years, it is based on a completely new development from materials and production to aerodynamics and structural design. At its heart is Alpha Rib Technology (ART): a system of internal reinforcing ribs that significantly increases lateral stiffness and at the same time enables a lightweight, hollow rim structure. In combination with directly bonded spokes and a patented rib concept, ART ensures outstanding power transfer, immediate response and maximum control.
The aerodynamics have been optimized with the help of CFD simulations and intensive wind tunnel tests. The specially developed rim profile noticeably reduces air resistance while remaining stable even in crosswinds. Based on the Aero Mass Index, the design combines speed, stiffness and low weight in an exceptionally balanced form.
Each wheel consists of over 500 meters of carbon fiber and more than 70 precisely cut layers. An intelligent combination of automated and manual manufacturing processes ensures that material is only used where it is actually needed. The ART milestone has been tested far beyond common industry standards, including in climate, corrosion and driving time simulations. The result: enthusiasm among professionals and ambitious amateur riders alike.
R2R Design
R2R (Rim to Rim) is the name of the spoke concept developed by Lightweight and used in the ART milestone. Each carbon spoke runs in a continuous line from rim to rim and passes through the hub flange without any deflections, interruptions or mechanical connections. This design maximizes stiffness, responsiveness and power transmission.
Penta-Fly hubs
Penta-Fly hubs are equipped with oversized flanges that significantly increase lateral and torsional stiffness. This ensures optimum control and stability even under hard acceleration or heavy braking maneuvers. The compact hub bodies reduce air resistance and improve aerodynamic efficiency. The openly visible spoke connection brings the technical sophistication of the design to life. The SCHWARZ ED version is equipped with high-quality CeramicSpeed ball bearings for even less drag.
DRS - Drag Reduction Shape
The milestone ART is uncompromisingly designed for speed and stability. With an inner rim width of 23 millimetres, it is optimally tuned for wider tires and impresses with its superior handling in all wind conditions. The aerodynamic profile cuts efficiently through headwinds and remains calm and controlled even in crosswinds.
LCT - Lightweight Custom Composite
Lightweight Custom Composite is a specially developed material technology with the aim of minimizing weight while maximizing performance. Each individual layer is precisely constructed to achieve the optimum balance of stiffness, responsiveness and long-term durability. The result is a tailor-made high-performance composite that increases efficiency, sharpens the riding experience and meets the highest demands.
Smooth carbon finish
The milestone ART presents itself with an elegant, refined finish that is clearly different from anything previously seen in the Lightweight portfolio. Instead of the classic, visible carbon weave, it features a smooth finish that emphasizes the advanced construction and modern design language.
