GARMIN Tacx Alpine Slope Simulator for Tacx Smart Trainer
After an unforgettable cycling vacation in the Alps, the excitement is still palpable: day after day of endless climbs, narrow serpentines, breathtaking views and the pure joy of every descent. To recreate this intense experience at home, the Tacx Alpine is the perfect upgrade for your indoor trainer setup. Developed for ambitious cyclists, the sophisticated incline simulator simulates climbs and descents that you would otherwise only experience on the road - for a uniquely realistic riding experience within your own four walls.
Thanks to the motorized lifting device on the front fork, the Tacx Alpine raises or lowers your training bike according to the virtual track conditions and simulates inclines from -10 % to +25 %. In combination with the base plate and guide system, on which the Alpine can move forwards and backwards with the help of four rollers, you benefit from multidirectional mobility. Especially in combination with the NEO Motion Plates of the compatible smart trainers, Tacx NEO 3M and Tacx NEO 2T, this creates a realistic movement pattern that authentically simulates the natural forward and backward movement of the bike while riding. You train precisely those muscle groups that you also use during enduring mountain rides over real Alpine passes.
The Dynamic Fork Mount on the Tacx Alpine provides even more immersion, control and fun. This steerable front wheel mount allows virtual directional control on digital training platforms such as Zwift. In addition, the pivoting and rotating suspension supports a balanced dynamic movement when you get out of the saddle and sprint around the mountain points.
Despite these dynamic movements, the Tacx Alpine guarantees a stable, secure stance, regardless of whether you are sitting in the saddle or standing on the climb. This allows you to experience every ramp, every hill or every descent exactly as you would in reality. The simulator is not only responsive and precise, it is also whisper-quiet - ideal for home training at any time of day.
The Alpine is connected via ANT+ or Bluetooth using the Tacx Training App. The incline adjustments of the virtual worlds are transmitted exclusively to the Tacx smart trainer, which then synchronizes these commands with the Alpine. This means that no active integration of the incline simulator is necessary on the part of the platforms, which significantly increases the selection of compatible training software and gives you maximum flexibility of use.
TACX TRAINING APP
Garmin's Tacx Training App is a specially developed indoor cycling app for Tacx Smart Trainers that offers a realistic and motivating training experience. With the app you can easily connect your Tacx smart trainer and Tacx incline simulator via ANT+ or Bluetooth and use a variety of virtual training routes and workouts. The app transmits the inclines and declines of the virtual routes directly to your Tacx trainer in real time, exactly replicating the ride feel of the real profile. Whether you are climbing challenging Alpine passes, mastering flat passages at full speed or battling your way through hilly landscapes - the Tacx Training app provides you with every detail of the route and supports targeted muscle training.
Thanks to the connection to Garmin Connect, you can track and analyze your progress and integrate it into your personal training plan.
GARMIN CONNECT APP
The Garmin Connect app serves as a control center for all your recorded data and fitness data. It provides you with detailed insights into your activity and health metrics and supports you in planning and implementing training programs. You can set goals, track your progress and access comprehensive analyses. You can also interact with the Garmin community and take part in challenges to motivate you even more.
Garmin is a world leader in mobile navigation and satellite communications. Founded in 1989 with five employees in the United States, the company now has over 9,000 employees worldwide and has established itself by developing innovative products in the field of navigation and communication. To date, over 43 million Garmin devices have been sold, underlining the trust placed in the brand. The name "Garmin" is made up of the first names of the two founders, Gary Burrell and Dr. Min Kao, and reflects the close partnership and innovative spirit that has characterized the company from the very beginning.
A milestone was the launch of the GPS 100 in 1991, a navigation system for boaters and pilots. It was the first of its kind and marked the beginning of Garmin's focus on GPS technology.
Another significant step was the acquisition of the Dutch company Tacx in 2019, a renowned manufacturer of indoor bike trainers and training software. With this strategic acquisition, Garmin expanded its portfolio to include the rapidly growing area of indoor cycling and strengthened its position in the fitness and sports segment. Tacx not only brought technical expertise in the simulation of realistic cycling experiences, but also complemented the existing Garmin world with new digital training programs and smart fitness equipment for performance-based training at home.
