The noble pair of hubs from the Black Forest: Princess & Prince are classics among lightweight hubs and a highlight in every wheelset.
As you would expect from Tune, the hubs are CNC-milled from 7075 aluminum. The special feature of the Princess front hub is the right-hand hub flange, which is made of carbon. This makes the flange not only lighter, but also more tensile compared to aluminum. The straight-pull lacing makes it possible to create an extremely stiff wheel and the tensile forces of the spokes are transmitted in a material-appropriate manner. In addition, the absence of the spoke bend eliminates the weak point of the spokes and guarantees a durable wheelset. Two double-sealed deep groove ball bearings ensure silky smooth running. These are more heavily filled with the best grease for outstanding smooth running and extra durability.
Even though the Prince hubs look delicate with their milled straight-pull hub flanges, they are ideally suited for MTB adventures without velvet gloves. Thanks to the straight pull design, the load on the spokes is reduced and the risk of spoke breakage is minimized. The straight-pull design also saves a lot of weight, even compared to the lightweight Tune ClimbHill hubs. Thanks to the 17 millimeter axle system, the hubs are extremely flexible and can be converted to different axle standards with minimal effort. For the freehub, Tune relies on the tried-and-tested system with three pawls that engage in a 27-toothed titanium ring. The Endurance freehub body has been reinforced to better withstand the high leverage forces of wide-range cassettes.
Like all Tune hubs, the Prince & Princess are produced, milled and assembled entirely in the Black Forest.

Observe the maximum tightening torques for brake disk bolts (5Nm) and cassette end ring (40Nm).
When spoking the front hub, the 17 mm axle must be removed so that the spokes can be spoked radially on the right-hand side. The Tune complete tool set or a comparable bearing tool can be used for this purpose.
