Quarq has been developing performance measurement systems for athletes who do not want to leave anything to chance during training for more than 10 years. The Americans incorporated all of their experience into the DZero power meter platform and integrated the latest technical standards.

The DZero power meters continue to rely on a spider-based power measurement. Since this system measures the performance where it is provided and the performance is measured from both legs, this system ensures a very high measuring accuracy. Externally changed only in detail, the DZero power meters have a completely revised interior. Not only is the measurement technology new, the arrangement of the strain gauges has also been further optimized. The result is an even more precise power measurement in every phase of a crank revolution and improved measurement accuracy in the event of temperature fluctuations. Thus, the values have to be corrected less with the internal software. Another important new feature is the data transmission via Bluetooth Low Energy Standard, in addition to the transmission in the ANT + standard. This means that the DZero power meter can be coupled with almost all bike computers and smartphone apps available on the market. To upload firmware updates and perform system diagnostics, Quarq has developed the Qalvin app for IOS and Android.

The Quarq DZero power meter spider is compatible with Specialized S-Works road bike cranks from model year 2013. A Specialized Lock Ring Tool is required for installation.
