Light Bicycle were ahead of the times in 2023 with the Falcon Pro WG44 rim. For all gravel racers looking for even more speed, the Chinese have launched the WG55, an even more aerodynamic version of their wide gravel rim. Not only has the profile height increased to 55 millimetres, the inner width is also even wider at 32 millimetres. Thanks to the outer width of 40 millimetres, wide gravel tires can be perfectly integrated into the rim profile, making the tire and rim system more streamlined and less susceptible to crosswinds. The large inner width also gives the tires more volume, which has a positive effect on the damping properties and offers more reserves against punctures. In addition, the tire remains stable on the rim even at extremely low air pressures at high lean angles. The hybrid hook profile of the rim flanges also ensures a secure tire fit.
Despite the extreme rim dimensions, the Flyweight version of the WG55 rim weighs just 400 grams thanks to an elaborate manufacturing process.

Thanks to this special manufacturing process, the Falcon Pro rims come out of the autoclave as a finished product and require no post-processing. This not only makes the manufacturing process more environmentally friendly than conventional methods, the rim surface is also significantly harder and therefore more resistant to mechanical stresses during driving.

Thinner Laminates Orientation-Optimized
Extra-thin and lightweight carbon prepregs are used in the production of Falcon Pro rims. This makes it possible to stack more carbon layers in critical areas to achieve greater stability and to keep the overall weight of the rims extremely low without any weight disadvantages.
