The innovative wheel securing system from DT Swiss! Instead of the developed for racing bikes over 80 year old eccentric principle, the RWS, the clamping force is built up by tightening a bolt with a lever.
The operation is very simple: the tensioner by rotating the lever clockwise as tight as possible by hand tighten (min 15 Nm.). Depending on the frame or fork construction this can be made by repeatedly moving the lever. Then put the lever and rotate to the desired position - the wheel is fixed securely and strong.
Because the RWS are no plastic parts in the force flow, the clamping force is independent of temperature and thus the RWS is 100% disc brake compatible!
The direct transmission of leverage on the thread can be achieved with the RWS is up to 50% more clamping force than with conventional quick release. This is not only safer, but also increases the stiffness, which is particularly noticeable with disc brakes.
