Can you make good things even better? Continental has succeeded with the Mountain 2.6. It is a joint development with shoe manufacturer Adidas. The latter designed the CMTK trail running shoe in parallel, which has a sole with a similar profile to the Mountain King.
The newly arranged studs improve grip and running on any surface. Hard and dry ground is handled by the central lug, while the deep-set side lugs provide safety on rough trails.
The sidewall has not been left untouched either. Problems with air loss are a thing of the past. A redesigned bead core adapts perfectly to the rim and, with a little experience, is easier to fit than its predecessor.
The Mountain King is what is commonly referred to as an all-rounder. It rolls well on compacted ground and also offers good traction on loose to muddy ground. You can rely on the grip of the MK in all situations and it keeps you safely on track. From cross-country to all-mountain tours, the MK is the perfect tire for the whole year round.
Handmade in Germany
These tires are among the highest quality tires produced by Continental. They are sewn by hand at the factory in Korbach and set special standards in terms of workmanship and quality.
BlackChili Compound
At Conti, BlackChili means above all that grip, rolling resistance and durability are combined at a level that almost makes you believe in magic. Continental simply uses the very latest and best technologies. Polymers, carbon black particles and fillers optimized down to the nano range guarantee the unique performance of the BlackChili compound. It revolutionized the basic conflict between grip and rolling resistance. Approximately 30% more grip and a 26% improvement in rolling resistance compared to the silica compound ensure better performance and safety.
Continental tires consist entirely of this high-quality rubber compound. This means that the tires can be worn down to the carcass without losing the first-class properties of the rubber!
ProTection
ProTection technology gives the tires a perfect blend of smooth running, grip and puncture protection. The latter is achieved through a continuous additional layer, which increases resistance to injuries of all kinds. However, this does not diminish the good running properties of Continetal tires.
