CONTINENTAL Cross King 27.5 | 650B x 2.60 BlackChili ProTection tires
The Cross King was developed together with the Topeak Ergon racing team. The aim was to be able to offer a tire that rolls well and achieves the grip required off-road. The result is the versatile Cross King, which is equipped with all of Continental's technical refinements and is equally suitable for dry and wet weather conditions.
The Cross King starts the 2018 season with a modified profile and a revised sidewall. Above all, a better interaction between the rim and tire prevents air loss if the tire is to be used tubeless.
Handmade in Germany
These tires are among the highest quality tires produced by Continental. They are sewn by hand at the factory in Korbach and set special standards in terms of workmanship and quality.
BlackChili Compound
At Conti, BlackChili means above all that grip, rolling resistance and durability are combined at a level that almost makes you believe in magic. Continental simply uses the very latest and best technologies. Polymers, carbon black particles and fillers optimized down to the nano range guarantee the unique performance of the BlackChili compound. It revolutionized the basic conflict between grip and rolling resistance. Approximately 30% more grip and a 26% improvement in rolling resistance compared to the silica compound ensure better performance and safety.
Continental tires consist entirely of this high-quality rubber compound. This means that the tires can be worn down to the carcass without losing the first-class properties of the rubber!
ProTection
ProTection technology gives the tires a perfect blend of smooth running, grip and puncture protection. The improved puncture protection is achieved through a continuous additional layer that increases resistance to all types of damage. However, this does not diminish the good running properties of Conti tires. Another great feature is the tubeless ready function. Due to the reinforcement, tires with ProTection carcass are best suited for tubeless mounting with sealing milk. The additional material minimizes the formation of micropores and thus speeds up the sealing process immensely.
