If you are looking for a cockpit that is uncompromisingly designed for performance, ergonomics and individual setup, there is no way around THE COCKPIT. This ultra-light handlebar/stem unit combines innovative carbon technology with complete customizability. The result is a precise steering feel, more control in technical passages or hectic racing situations and a perfect riding position that exactly matches your riding style.
THE COCKPIT is manufactured using the elaborate one-piece monocoque process. The upper handlebar, handlebar arch and stem merge into a single component, without gluing or weak points. This manufacturing principle ensures an outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratio, direct power transmission and razor-sharp handling at high speeds. At the same time, the construction dampens the finest vibrations and noticeably reduces fatigue over long distances. Thanks to fully integrated cable routing, all cables run invisibly through the handlebars, stem and headset into the frame. This not only ensures a tidy look, but also reduces turbulence in the airstream and creates an aesthetically and functionally perfect front end.
With a system weight of just 299 grams, THE COCKPIT is one of the lightest handlebar/stem units in its class. For the highest safety standards, it has been tested in the EFBE laboratory not only according to the ISO standard, but also according to the tougher ASTM 2 protocol and approved for riders weighing up to 100 kg. THE COCKPIT was developed together with STOLL Bikes and is manufactured entirely by hand in Germany, from the laminate structure to the final finish of matt non-directional carbon, which does not require painting.
So that you get exactly the geometry that suits your riding position, THE COCKPIT is available in both race and gravel drop options. With race geometry, the handlebars are designed for maximum aerodynamics and efficiency: narrow, low and with a low angle. This gives the cockpit a low, stretched, aerodynamic position. With gravel geometry, on the other hand, the handlebars are designed to offer more comfort and stability on unpaved surfaces. A stepped handlebar curve improves ergonomics in the lower grip. In addition, the handlebar ends are positioned further out at the bottom than the top bar, which increases control on rough terrain. All handlebar widths (360-440 mm) and stem lengths (88-133 mm) can be freely combined so that you can realize your individual riding position without compromise. A holder for your favorite speedometer, developed exclusively with CarbonWorks, is already included in the scope of delivery and is fixed positively via integrated mounting holes. Light, elegant and a flyweight at just 9.5g.
THE COCKPIT was originally developed as an integral component for THE SUPERFAST. The frame, fork and cockpit form a technical unit, are perfectly coordinated and visually merge into a consistent design. At the same time, THE COCKPIT can also be combined with frames from other brands using matching headset covers. This gives you a high-quality, fully integrated cockpit solution that delivers maximum performance not only on THE SUPERFAST.
Note: Bike Ahead recommends applying mounting paste to the carbon tubes before screwing them into the handlebars to ensure that the computer mount stays securely in place. This increases the clamping effect and prevents them from falling out.
