SRAM's XX1 groupset ushered in a new era in mountain biking. A chainring at the front and a wide-stepped sprocket block at the rear now adorn many bikes from cross-country to all-mountain. Absolute Black has developed a combination of single chainring and spider that can be fitted to any SRAM GXP crank of the XX1, X0, X9 or X7 groupsets. The combination is bolted directly to the crank arm. This saves weight, is very stiff and ensures a clean and individual look. A 7075 Txxx aluminum alloy ensures low wear. The chainrings have special teeth that prevent the chain from jumping off. The principle follows that of the SRAM XX1 chainrings. In conjunction with a SRAM Type2 or Shimano Shadow+ rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased cage preload, the chain is reliably held in position even without a chain guide.
The ovalization of the chainring increases performance by varying the drivetrain and optimizing resistance. When pedaling with the legs, the natural strengths and weaknesses are harmonized. This results in better use of the stronger muscle groups and compensates for the weaker muscles in the work stroke (shorter stroke).
This chainring is specially designed for the new BOOST 148 standard. The slight offset optimizes the chainline for the new 1-speed drivetrains.
Note: compatible with SRAM/Truvativ GXP and BB30 cranks. BB30 cranks are only compatible if it is the model with a longer axle. These can be recognized by the 16 mm spacer on the drive side.
