The return of an icon! With the 202 NSW, Zipp's legendary wheelset for all climbing specialists and lovers of steep climbs returns to the market. But the 202 NSW can do more than just ride fast uphill. Of course, Zipp has also optimized the aerodynamic properties of the 35 millimetre high wheels so that you are also efficient on the approach to the climb. Thanks to its high stiffness and very low susceptibility to wind due to the profile, you can also enjoy the well-deserved descent to the full. Although developed for demanding high mountain routes, the 202 NSW wheels are also ideal as an upgrade for any lightweight bike setup where every gram counts.
The 202 NSW wheels use a biomimetic carbon laminate based on the 353 NSW wheels, combining various mixed-modulus fibers. Inspired by the functioning of a muscle tendon, this construction increases both the stiffness in the spoke bed area and the resistance at the rim flange. The external carbon fibers are specifically designed for high impact resistance and durability, while the high-modulus fibers inside the rim ensure consistently stable spoke tension even under dynamic riding loads. The result is a rim design that enables a wheelset weighing less than 1100 grams that responds immediately to acceleration without compromising on robustness or aerodynamic advantages.
The TSS (Tubeless Straight Side) rim profile has an inner width of 23 millimetres, allowing wider tires and lower air pressures to be run. This reduces rolling resistance and minimizes vibration losses. As a result, you save energy on the mountain and at the same time gain more speed and control downhill.
The wheels are built with the ZR1 SL premium hubs developed in Germany with corrosion-resistant and smooth-running ceramic ball bearings. Lightweight Alpina Hyperlite spokes are used, which are installed with the utmost care in a double-crossed pattern with 20 spokes per wheel.
Zipp Lifetime Warranty
Zipp grants you a lifetime warranty on your Zipp wheel when used properly. The warranty also covers racing use and damage caused by riding errors as long as the wheel has been used for its intended purpose. The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and proof of purchase is mandatory!
NOTE: Due to the hookless profile, the Zipp 202 NSW wheels are only suitable for use with ETRTO-compliant tubeless tires. However, corresponding tubeless tires can be used on the wheels without any problems using the TPU tube (optimized for use with the wheel sensor) included in the scope of delivery.
