VERTICAL Helium Race seatpost | without remote lever | 320 x 60 mm
Helium Race - maximum engineering for minimum weight.
With the Helium, the Spaniards from Vertical already have one of the lightest dropper seatposts in their range. Of course, you could rest on your laurels, but it's better to continue perfecting what is already good.
The result is quite impressive. The Helium Race is lighter, more stable and boasts a number of ingenious technologies and details.
But first things first. A newly designed upper plate is used to clamp the saddle. In addition to the weight saving, the system also scores points with its unique look and very easy handling during assembly. The M6 titanium hardware is extremely stable and secure. A little further down, the Spaniards have given the Helium Race a special hard anodized finish on the sliding surface of the dip tube. In addition to reducing wear and corrosion, the coating also optimizes the sliding behavior and thus the function of the seatpost.
Potential was also found on the lower tube unit to improve the function and reduce the weight to a minimum. Thanks to the larger specific clamping area, further weight could be saved here. The optimized wall thicknesses of the carbon tube are reinforced in the clamping area with 90° twisted fibres and a special coating with fine particles increases friction. This allows you to reliably secure your seat post in the frame with minimal torque on the seat clamp.
ILC (Indepedent Locking Cardrige)
With every dropper seat post, the aluminum sliding tube is exposed to very high bending stresses. On conventional, mechanically locking seat posts, this tube is slotted or grooved, resulting in high stress concentrations that have to be compensated for by thick walls.
Vertical has developed and patented its own locking mechanism in which, similar to a hydraulic seatpost, the sliding tube is smooth on the inside so that locking grooves can be dispensed with.
OCL (Optimal Carbon Layup)
The development and production of the carbon tube was one of the more complex steps in the development process. In addition to the high loads caused by the rider's weight, it must also be sufficiently rigid so that it does not tilt when lowered and is quickly raised again when extended. In addition, the tube must be able to withstand the clamping forces of the seat clamp to ensure optimum function. A reinforcement in the clamping area with 90° twisted fibers and special paint with friction-enhancing particles reduces the necessary clamping forces and improves the function.
EDS (Easy Detachment System)
With the EDS system, the removal and installation of your Helium dropper post is done in seconds. Regardless of whether you want to maintain the post or use it alternately on several bikes, the EDS system makes it all possible without tools.
Note: the post has a very narrow clamping range. Please measure which support extension you need before ordering. If you order incorrectly and the post has clamping marks, we will not be able to refund the full purchase price. The internally routed seatpost gives your bike a tidy look - please make sure that your frame allows the installation of seatposts with internal cable routing.
