SRAM Apex XPLR AXS Wide Disc HRD Flat Mount Gravel groupset 1x12 | Quarq Powermeter crankset
Electronic wireless shifting at a low price: With the Apex AXS, SRAM offers a reliable and easy-to-use 1x12 groupset with a wide gear range for a variety of bikes. In addition to the XPLR version with an 11-44 tooth cassette, there is also the Apex Eagle version for cassettes with up to 52 teeth. For the more ambitious biker, the groupset includes the matching Apex Quarq power meter crank arm. With the proven AXS standard, you can adapt the shifting behavior to your needs and integrate AXS components from other groupsets or additional shifters into your setup.
CrankWith its 47.5 millimeter chainline, the Apex Wide crank also offers sufficient tire clearance for 2.1 inch wide tires. The Wide crank is even suitable for use on MTBs with the corresponding DUB bottom bracket. The crank is supplied with an aluminium direct mount chainring with 40 teeth. The SRAM X-Sync tooth profile with alternating thick and thin teeth (narrow-wide), proven in the MTB sector, ensures a secure fit of the chain on the chainring. The black aluminum crank arms with white Apex logo are available in lengths from 160 to 175 millimeters. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB Wide bottom bracket.
Quarq Powermeter Upgrade crank armWith the Apex Powermeter Upgrade Kit, you can equip your Apex DUB Wide crank with a power measurement system. The Apex AXS Powermeter platform not only impresses with its price, it also offers a particularly clean look on your bike. This is made possible by the complete integration of the measurement technology into the DUB crankshaft. The power of the left leg is measured, from which the total power is calculated using an algorithm. Thanks to the many years of experience of Quarq's power meter specialists, the measurement is very reliable and accurate. The battery life of up to 400 hours should cover operation for a season for many bikers. If you do run out of power, the lithium AAA battery can easily be replaced independently. For use in adverse weather conditions, the power meter unit is waterproof to IPX7 standard. In contrast to other power meters, the additional weight of the power meter unit remains pleasingly low at 40 grams. The crankshaft was developed for the new DUB Road bottom bracket standard for a wide range of crank applications. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB bottom bracket.
Shift brake lever / HydroHC Hydraulic-Road-Disc (HRD) brakesThe slim design of the grip body, adopted from the SRAM Rival AXS groupset, provides even better grip, especially for small hands, thanks to a larger hand wrap. The textured shift paddles and grip rubbers provide even more control and comfort. The grip width adjustment on the brake lever ensures the best possible ergonomics. In contrast to the forged Rival brake levers, the Apex STI is equipped with more simply manufactured, stamped aluminum levers. With the integration of the Apex shifters into the AXS platform, you can use the associated smartphone app to adapt the shifting to your personal preferences, evaluate your shifting behaviour or carry out firmware updates. Ports for additional shifters (blips) are not available. However, the shifters can be paired with up to 3 pairs of SRAM wireless blip shifters. The two-piece brake caliper based on the award-winning HydroHC platform is beyond reproach in terms of braking performance and heat management.
Paceline brake discsThe new Paceline brake rotors take up the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a redesigned braking surface with equally redesigned ventilation holes for even smoother and lower-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the rotor minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI cycling world federation. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.
XPLR rear derailleur | 44TEquipped with the electronic wireless eTap shifting logic, the Apex XPLR rear derailleur ensures intuitive shifting and simple, wireless setup. The integrated spring clutch ensures safe and smooth chain movement on any terrain. The chain guide is supported by derailleur pulleys with SRAM X-Sync tooth profiles. An ANT+ transmitter integrated in the rear derailleur enables communication between your bike computer and the rear derailleur. This allows you to display information on the battery charge status and the current gear in your cockpit. With the integration of AXS technology, the shifting behaviour can be personalized in the associated app. The power required is supplied by the proven SRAM eTap battery (not included), with which you can operate the rear derailleur for over 1000 kilometers or around 60 riding hours. The Apex XPLR rear derailleur is compatible with SRAM 12-speed cassettes with 10-36, 10-44 and 11-44 teeth.
CassetteWith a gear range of 400%, the XPLR XG-1231 cassette covers a wide range of applications. Its progressive sprocket gradation ensures that the jumps between the sprockets are as small as possible in the high speed range and larger in the slower gears. In contrast to the high-quality XPLR cassettes, the XG-1231 dispenses with the 10th sprocket and is therefore compatible with Shimano Road freehub bodies (not SRAM XDR). The cassette can be used with all SRAM XPLR rear derailleurs and SRAM Flattop 12-speed chains.
ChainIntroduced with the SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS groupsets, the Apex chain is also based on the elegant and innovative Flattop design. The shape of the plates allows the chain to be made narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the sprockets leads to smoother chain running and more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. The Apex chain is made of polished steel with a gray finish and is supplied with the matching Powerlock chain lock.
Charger/batteriesThe integrated battery on the rear derailleur has a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be checked at any time via an LED light and the batteries are recharged within an hour using the charger supplied.
