SHIMANO XTR Di2 Trail complete groupset M9220 | 10 - 51 teeth | 203 / 180 mm
Robust. Intuitive. Consistent. - is the motto for the new XTR M9200 groupset. With it, Shimano and the bike community are celebrating the rebirth of Di2 technology on their top model. And at the very highest level. Thanks to contemporary wireless control, perfect functionality, a 12-speed drivetrain and the usual outstanding build quality, you'll be rushing from victory to victory and giving the competition a run for their money.
With the robust Trail groupset, you can really let it rip. 4-piston disc brakes, a wide gear range and a stable crank provide you with sufficient safety at all times. Nothing is left to chance here, and you can see the Japanese company's years of experience in every detail.
SHIMANO XTR Di2 shifters SW-M9250-R 12-speed | I-Spec EV
The advantages of electronic shifting are obvious. One push of a button and the chain shifts from one sprocket to another in a fraction of a second, regardless of the situation and without any delays or effort. The high-quality XTR shifters with Shimano's Rapid ES technology are also synonymous with precision. The defined pressure points of the rubberized buttons give you the secure feeling of being in control at all times, while their ergonomic arrangement and adjustment options ensure that you always have a firm grip on the handlebars when shifting.
The rear derailleur communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth®. This eliminates the need for complex cabling and makes mounting on an I-SPEC EV-compatible mount very easy. Of course, the Shimano E-Tube app can be used to personalize the switch assignments. Whether single-shifting, multi-shifting or button swapping, the system adapts to your preferences. In addition, another small push button can be used to control a bike computer, for example.
SHIMANO XTR Di2 rear derailleur RD-M9250-SGS 12-speed | long cage
The advantages of electronic shifting are obvious. One push of a button and the chain shifts from one sprocket to another in a fraction of a second, regardless of the situation and without any delays or effort. The high-quality XTR Di2 rear derailleur is also synonymous with precision.
In combination with the Hyperglide+ cassettes, you will experience unprecedented shifting performance with virtually no noise. The further developed Shadow chain stabilization concept, here called Shadow ES, enables a very slim design and prevents uncontrolled chain slap on rough trails.
The developers paid particular attention to robustness. The narrow, wedge-shaped design of the rear derailleur, which offers 23 mm more ground clearance, as well as the smooth and resistant surface, significantly minimizes the risk of direct impacts and allows impacting objects to literally slide off. However, if small rocks or a root get in the way, the cage can move inwards thanks to the RD protection function and automatically returns to its previous position. This happens so quickly that the rider is unaware of it and can continue at full speed. In addition, the closed pulleys reliably fend off twigs and branches.
In addition to all the positive visual and technical features, you will also be pleased with the low weight. This is achieved through the clever and elegant choice of materials, with aluminum and carbon dominating.
SHIMANO XTR disc brake 4-piston BL-M9220 + BR-M9220 | front wheel
The performance of the XTR brakes will also impress you once again. The powerful M9220 Enduro version in particular leaves nothing to be desired in terms of deceleration.
The new design catches the eye at first glance. The oil reservoir parallel to the handlebars and the new cable outlet ensure a clean and tidy look. The small contact point near the grip suppresses any possible twisting and thus creates a much more direct and sensitive braking feel. However, you will be impressed above all by the inner values. The pivot point is closer to the handlebars, which is why the path of the brake lever follows the arc of the finger more effectively. Together with the lever being bent upwards by 5°, a much more comfortable ergonomic position has been created. Of course, the grip width can still be individually adjusted without tools using the rotary wheel.
The sealing system of the brake system has also been modified and may only be filled with LV (low viscosity) mineral oil. The advantage of this is the higher performance of the brake across practically all temperature ranges, which means that you can also tackle longer downhill rides in a relaxed manner and pressure point fluctuations are a thing of the past. In addition, the response behavior of the individual components to each other is significantly accelerated.
The proven SM-BH90 hydraulic hose is used for the connection to the brake calliper. It is flexible enough to negotiate even tighter radii, but also transmits all deceleration commands without loss.
The power of the brake calliper is not visible from the outside. Its filigree appearance blends in perfectly with any frame, yet the 4 pistons apply the brakes mercilessly and bring you to a safe stop in any riding situation. Revised Brake Pads bring calm to the system and prevent annoying rattling even on bumpy roads. With their cooling fins, together with the design of the caliper and the high-quality aluminum, they guarantee rapid heat dissipation during continuous use.
SHIMANO XTR brake rotor RT-CL900 Center Lock IceTech FREEZA
When developing the XTR CL900 brake rotors, Shimano engineers succeeded in preventing heat-related deformation of the rotors. As a result, the CL900 rotors offer more reliable, more controllable braking performance and are quieter than ever before. Fortunately, the weight has remained at the same low level as the previous version.
Also on board is Shimano's Ice-Tech cooling technology, which ensures excellent heat dissipation and constant braking performance even on long, steep descents. The brake discs feature a three-layer sandwich construction with stainless steel sides and an aluminium core for significantly improved heat dissipation. This allows the temperature to be reduced by around 100 °C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminum cooling fins reduce the system temperature by a further 50 °C thanks to their increased surface area. The heat dissipation is supported by a special surface coating, which means that smaller brake discs can be fitted than usual. The service life of the Brake Pad is also significantly extended.
As is typical for Shimano, the rotors are suitable for Center-Lock mounts, which enable quick and easy installation, provide a secure hold and ensure a clean and compact look.
SHIMANO XTR cranks Direct Mount FC-M9220 1x12-speed
The new XTR crank will also play its part in the success of the groupset. The new, very eye-catching design already shows that this is a winner. The Enduro version shines with stability, outstanding stiffness and yet weighs only moderately on the scales. This is achieved through the further development of Shimano's proven cold forging process, which significantly optimizes the use of materials and reinforces particularly stressed areas with pinpoint accuracy. The hard surface also ensures good resistance to external influences or flying stones. The Hollowtech II shaft standard and the simple attachment of the chainring using a lockring have been retained. With a Q-factor of 176 mm, a relaxed leg position is still possible and the crank arms do not touch the chainstays even with very wide rear triangles.
SHIMANO XTR chainring Direct Mount SM-CRM96 1x12-speed
The SM-CRM96 chainrings not only form a visual unit with the XTR cranks, they are also at the highest technical level. The partially closed design ensures unprecedented stiffness at the point of maximum power input and therefore unrestricted propulsion. Nevertheless, the high-quality aluminum has kept the weight low and
durability has been improved.
Particular attention was paid to the shape of the individual teeth. With their special Dynamic-Chain-Engagement+ design, they guide the chain safely and very quietly even on rough trails and minimize wear.
The chainrings are secured with a lockring, which has the Shimano bottom bracket tool mount, making any maintenance work quick and easy.
SHIMANO XTR cassette CS-M9200 12-speed | 10-51 teeth
Smooth and precise shifting has always been a Shimano trademark. This has been further perfected with the Hyperglide+ cassettes. The shape of the individual teeth is designed in such a way that hardly any noise or vibrations are perceptible when changing to a larger sprocket or when shifting down. Nevertheless, the chain is held more reliably and possible slippage is effectively prevented. In addition, the time required to change gear has been significantly reduced.
Shimano uses a mix of different materials in the construction of the cassette: while the smallest sprockets with the lowest chain wrap and highest load are made of steel, the middle sprockets are made of titanium. The three largest sprockets and the spider are made of high-quality aluminum. This load-appropriate use of materials leads to even wear of the cassette and also extends the service life of the chain. In addition, significant weight savings can be achieved.
SHIMANO XTR chain | Dura-Ace CN-M9100 12-speed | 126 links with chain lock
The CN-M9100 chain guarantees maximum shifting performance. Thanks to cut-outs on the inside of the plates, the chain harmonizes perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) Narrow-Wide tooth profiles of Shimano's 12-speed chainrings. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother chain run is not only noticeable when pedaling, but is also noticeable acoustically thanks to a 4 db quieter drivetrain. Thanks to a new chrome-plated surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain has been kept at the same level as the M9000 chain, despite the smaller outer width.
SHIMANO BT-DN320 battery for Di2 rear derailleur
A major innovation compared to the previous Di2 versions is the elimination of the central power supply. This means that cumbersome wiring is no longer necessary, which significantly simplifies installation.
The small 305 mAh battery is plugged directly into the rear derailleur. There it sits invisibly, protected against loss and supplies it inconspicuously with the necessary energy. Despite the waterproof compartment, it can be removed quickly and easily for charging.
SHIMANO EC-EN100 charger for BT-DN320 battery
This charger supplies the Shimano BT-DN320 battery with new energy. Thanks to the intelligent technology, this is done very gently and thus significantly extends the service life of the battery. The USB-C cable supplied is compatible with any smartphone charging plug.
