SHIMANO GRX Di2 827 groupset 1x12 | 175 mm 42 teeth / 10-51 teeth
Ever since Shimano launched the GRX, a specific groupset for gravel riders, it has been synonymous with reliability, durability and functionality. Following minor optimizations, the Japanese company has made a major leap forward with this version. Thanks to the 1x12-speed drivetrain, contemporary wireless control and the usual outstanding build quality, there are no limits to your bike dreams and you will have a loyal companion for your adventures.
Shifter/brake lever SHIMANO GRX Di2 BL- / ST-RX825 + brake caliper BR-RX820 Flat Mount
The GRX shift/brake levers have a grip geometry and surface texture specially optimized for gravel use. The upper hump has been raised to prevent you from slipping forwards on rough surfaces, and the shape has been optimized for wide-spread use.And to prevent your hands from sliding back and forth even when riding in the rain, a non-slip material has been selected which also has good damping properties and therefore increases comfort.
Shifting is done at the touch of a button. This is quick and effortless. The pressure point is so precise that unintentional gear changes are practically impossible. This wireless system is also fully customizable with the help of the Shimano E-Tube app. Among other things, the shifting speed can be set, a fully or semi-synchronous shifting mode can be selected and the program buttons on the lever can be assigned specific functions. Energy consumption is also very low. According to Shimano, the two CR1632 button cells should supply the electronics with power for over 3 years. The absence of wiring not only simplifies installation, but also gives you a neat and tidy cockpit.
The brake lever has also been designed so that you can stop quickly at any time from any grip position. It is slightly bent inwards and the axis of the lever has been moved upwards. This improves the ergonomics and at the same time reduces the necessary manual force. In addition, the reach of the brake lever can be individually adjusted so that bikers with smaller hands can also ride safely.
The flat-mount brake calliper improves braking performance and modulation under all conditions. Maintenance work, such as bleeding or changing pads, is also easy to carry out. The L03A Brake Pads with cooling fins help to keep braking temperatures low, especially on long descents.
Brake rotor SHIMANO Ultegra Center Lock RT-CL800 | 160 mm + 160 mm
When developing the Ultegra CL800 brake rotors, Shimano engineers succeeded in preventing heat-related deformation of the rotors. As a result, they offer more reliable, more controllable braking performance and are quieter than ever before. Fortunately, the weight has remained at the same low level as the previous version.
Also on board is Shimano's Ice-Tech cooling technology, which ensures excellent heat dissipation and constant braking performance even on long, steep descents. The brake discs feature a three-layer sandwich construction with stainless steel sides and an aluminium core for significantly improved heat dissipation. This allows the temperature to be reduced by around 100 °C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminum cooling fins reduce the system temperature by a further 50 °C due to their increased surface area. The increased heat dissipation means that smaller brake discs can be fitted than usual. The service life of the Brake Pad is also significantly extended.
As is typical for Shimano, the rotors are suitable for Center-Lock mounts, which enable quick and easy installation, provide a secure hold and ensure a clean and compact look.
Crank SHIMANO GRX FC-RX820-1 | 1x12-speed | 42 teeth | crank arm length 175 mm
With its chainline of 49.7 mm, the GRX 1x crank creates space for wide tires in the frame and positions the chainring optimally for the 12-speed cassette. Nevertheless, the Q-factor has remained pleasantly narrow at 151 mm. In combination with the various Shimano 12-speed cassettes, the GRX drivetrain offers you the option of choosing between a maximum range for the steepest ramps or a narrower gear ratio for flatter terrain.
Rear derailleur SHIMANO GRX Di2 RD-RX827-SGS | 1x12-speed
The advantages of electronic shifting are obvious. One push of a button and the chain shifts from one sprocket to another in a fraction of a second, regardless of the situation and without any delays or effort. The first-class GRX Di2 rear derailleur is also synonymous with precision.
The new design allows it to be combined with the 10-51 Hyperglide+ cassette, giving you unprecedented shifting performance with virtually no noise. The further developed Shadow chain stabilization concept, here called Shadow ES, enables a very slim design and prevents uncontrolled chain slap on rough trails.
The developers paid particular attention to robustness. The narrow, wedge-shaped design of the rear derailleur, which offers 23 mm more ground clearance, as well as the smooth and resistant surface, significantly minimizes the risk of direct impacts and allows impacting objects to literally slide off. However, if small rocks or a root get in the way, the cage can move inwards thanks to the RD protection function and automatically returns to its previous position. This happens so quickly that the rider is unaware of it and can continue at full speed. In addition, the closed pulleys reliably fend off twigs and branches.
The power supply to the rear derailleur is also a small revolution. For the first time, Shimano is using a decentralized battery, which is well protected inside the derailleur and can be easily removed for charging.
In addition to all the positive visual and technical features, you will also be pleased with the low weight. This is achieved through the clever and elegant choice of materials, with high-quality aluminum dominating.
Cassette SHIMANO Deore XT / GRX CS-M8200 12-speed | 10-51 teeth
Smooth and precise shifting has always been a Shimano trademark. This has been further perfected with the Hyperglide+ cassettes. The shape of the individual teeth is designed in such a way that hardly any noise or vibrations are perceptible when changing to a larger sprocket or when shifting down. Nevertheless, the chain is held more reliably and possible slippage is effectively prevented. In addition, the time required to change gear has been significantly reduced.
Shimano uses a mix of different materials in the construction of the cassette: while the 10 small sprockets with the lowest chain wrap and highest load are made of steel, the two largest sprockets and the spider are made of high-quality aluminum. This load-appropriate use of materials leads to even wear of the cassette and also extends the service life of the chain. It also saves a considerable amount of weight.
SHIMANO Deore XT | Ultegra CN-M8100 12-speed chain | 126 links with chain lock
The CN-M8100 chain is specially designed for the M8100 chainrings and cassettes. Thanks to cut-outs on the inside of the plates, the chain harmonizes perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) narrow-wide tooth profiles of the new XT chainrings. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother chain run is not only noticeable when pedaling, but is also noticeable acoustically thanks to a 4 dB quieter drivetrain. Thanks to a new chrome-plated surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain has been kept at the same level as the M8000 chain, despite the smaller outer width.
Di2 BT-DN320 battery
A major innovation compared to the previous Di2 variants is the elimination of the central power supply. This means that cumbersome wiring is no longer necessary, which makes installation much easier.
The small 305 mAh battery is plugged directly into the rear derailleur. There it sits invisibly, loss-proof and supplies the necessary energy inconspicuously. Despite the waterproof compartment, it can be removed quickly and easily for charging.
EC-EN100 charger for BT-DN320 battery
This charger supplies the Shimano BT-DN320 battery with new energy. Thanks to the intelligent technology, this is done very gently and thus significantly extends the service life of the battery. The USB-C cable supplied is compatible with any smartphone charging plug.
