SCOTT Frame Set 29" Spark RC HMX SL | 2025
From now on there are no more excuses. With this frame you have the top material par excellence. It has what it takes to be a winner, don't you? An absolute racing machine that was developed for nothing other than turning muscle power into propulsion.
Scott is going its own way again this year. Integration is the motto. And this is noticeable at first glance. Is the shock missing? Of course not. It sits well protected just above the bottom bracket. What are the advantages of this design? For one thing, the shock is very well protected from dirt and other external influences. In addition, weight is saved because the bottom bracket area is already stiff from the outset to maximize stability, meaning that less additional material is required for the mount. And last but not least, this frame shape allows two bottle cages to be fitted. This means you always have enough liquid to hand, even in marathons or on long tours.
The suspension travel remains unchanged. This is still 120 mm at the front and rear. For Scott, this is the standard with race range. This gives you sufficient comfort and safety reserves off-road.
The suspension has been given a truly sophisticated update. From this season, a RockShox SID Ultimate Flight Attendant suspension fork and the RockShox SIDLuxe Ultimate Flight Attendant shock smooth out the ground and you experience a completely new performance. The big advantage of this system is the automatic adjustment to your riding style and the ground. You always have the optimum suspension travel and ideal damping behavior at your disposal without having to worry about it while riding. Of course, you can also make manual settings or choose between the 3 modes open, pedal and lock.
To use these functions, however, a SRAM Powermeter crankset or the SRAM Flight Attendant Pedal Sensor is required, which determines the relevant riding data and transmits it to the fork and damper.
Another interesting feature is the adjustable headset from Acros. In addition to the well-known high functionality, the steering angle can be changed by +/- 0.6°. This allows you to adapt the entire frame geometry to your individual preferences or area of use.
The chainline has been increased to 55 mm. It offers more space for a stiffer chainstay and also allows the use of very wide 2.4" tires. This increases traction and puncture protection at the same time.
The HMX-SL carbon fibers are the main contributor to the frame's low weight and high rigidity. These are approx. 8.5 % lighter than the normal HMX fibers. Manufactured exclusively for Scott, they undergo a longer production process and are also given greater strength. In addition, fibres impregnated with nano-resin are used in particularly stressed and critical areas. This ensures undisturbed propulsion and better protects your frame from serious damage in the event of a fall.
Dispensing with the Horst link joint on the rear triangle makes the Spark even easier and reduces maintenance costs. Its function is taken over by the flexibly designed seat stays.
The brake mount on the rear triangle also saves weight. In the past, the opinion was that the combination of brake, seat stay and chainstay had to be radically stiff. Scott has reconsidered this and now only connects the brake to the chainstay and directly to the rear wheel axle via a special adapter. This means that the seat stay does not have to absorb any forces and can be lighter.
A clean and graceful look is achieved by the ICCR cable routing, in which all cables and lines run through the frame. All conceivable constellations have been considered. The cables are neatly routed through inserts in the frame, where they are well protected from dirt and rain.
ATTENTION: Scott recommends the use of Shimano or SRAM disc brakes. Models from other manufacturers (e.g. Magura or Hope) may not be able to be mounted on the rear triangle due to space restrictions.
