DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the new DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties have been achieved thanks to the Ratchet EXP technology. This not only means that the hubs have fewer components and therefore lower weight and less wear, it also allows the bearing to be positioned much further out on the drive side. The greater distance between the bearings results in greater hub rigidity, lower bearing loads and therefore greater durability. The stiffness on the hub body serves to distribute the load more evenly on the spokes. Drive and braking forces are transmitted even better from both spoke flanges to all spokes. One-sided load peaks are prevented, which protects the hub, spokes and rim. The super reliable EXP toothed pulley freehub system with its large contact surface and 36 engagement points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission.

BEAST COMPONENTS was founded in 2016 by students at the lightweight construction department in Dresden. In view of their origins, it was important from the outset to incorporate the latest scientific methods and state-of-the-art technology into the development of their products. The close cooperation with the Institute for Lightweight Construction at the TU Dresden also helps them to achieve this.
BEAST COMPONENTS products are characterized by their combination of lightweight construction, stability and exceptional appearance. But the company founder is also aware of his social responsibility. Instead of relying on mass production in Asia, all components are manufactured by hand under fair conditions and with high quality standards in Europe and meticulously tested in-house. Because the fiber structure of the components is not hidden behind a layer of lacquer, the high production quality and clean workmanship are obvious.
A holistic approach refers to looking at a challenge as part of a larger context, taking into account all relevant aspects to develop a comprehensive solution. Following this philosophy, Beast designed the RX60 rim as a single unit with the tire. With a tire width of 25 to 28 millimeters, the rim and tire merge almost straight into each other, creating a stable airflow. The result is an aero rim for road bikes that enables higher speeds without compromising on stiffness and handling.

The perfect storm! With the Aero 111 Tubeless tires, Continental, in collaboration with the aerodynamics experts from Swiss Side, has succeeded in optimally guiding the air along the rims. This is made possible by 48 so-called vortex generators, small precision-formed air chambers on the tread of the tire. These generate controlled turbulence, which ensures that the airflow sticks to the rim for longer and only stalls at large lateral flow angles. In practice, this not only results in a more aerodynamically efficient wheel and tire system, but also improves crosswind stability and steering stability. The Aero 111 was developed and aerodynamically optimized in combination with DT-Swiss ARC and ERC aero rims. However, the tires can also demonstrate their advantages on rims from other manufacturers. Because the air on the rear wheel is already too turbulent, the Aero 111 is particularly recommended for use on the front wheel.
The carcass construction and rubber compound were largely adopted from Continental's high-end 5000 S TR racing tire. Thanks to only 2 fabric layers under the tread, the rolling resistance is extremely low and the tire can adapt perfectly to the surface. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread, the reduced number of layers does not have a negative effect on puncture protection.
Rear tire CONTINENTAL Grand Prix 5000 S TR Tubeless 28" | 700 x 28C BlackChili VectranBreaker
Although the Continental Grand Prix 5000 is still one of the fastest and most popular road bike tires, it didn't stop the German manufacturer's developers from launching a tubeless-ready (TR) version that has been improved in all areas.
At first glance, the 5000 S TR is almost indistinguishable from the previous version. However, the familiar Lazer Grip tread structure conceals a completely new design. In contrast to the previous version, the 5000 S TR has only 2 instead of 3 layers of fabric under the tread. This ensures better adaptation to the surface and contributes significantly to the 20% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread inherited from the previous version, the reduced number of plies does not have a negative effect on puncture protection. The sidewalls still consist of 3 layers with a newly added protective layer. This not only improves the puncture protection of the sidewalls by 28%, it also ensures a more stable running of the tire at low air pressures. A new, patented tubeless construction, which does not require a sealing rubber layer, makes the tire 50 grams lighter than the previous version.
Long awaited by many Conti fans, the new 5000 S TR is now also compatible with hookless rims. However, it can still be ridden with classic clincher rims and also with a tube.
The new tubeless tire has already proven its outstanding properties and versatility in racing. Both the world champion title in the individual time trial and the victory at Paris-Roubaix were won on the 5000 ST R.

During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible.
