Hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the newly launched DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties were achieved through the Ratchet EXP technology. With this, the hubs not only get by with fewer components and the associated lower weight and lower wear, it also allows the bearing to be positioned significantly further out on the drive side. The greater distance between the bearings results in a higher stiffness of the hub, a lower bearing load and thus a higher durability. The stiffness of the hub body serves to distribute the load on the spokes more evenly. Driving and braking forces are transmitted even better from both spoke flanges to all spokes. One-sided load peaks are prevented, which protects the hub, spokes and rim. The super reliable toothed pulley freewheel system with its large contact area and 36 locking points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission.

ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at its headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have many years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE everything is done to utilize the advantages of carbon and to eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thickness. This principle has been perfected for the spoke holes, as continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
