With this upgrade of the Met Trenda 3K Carbon you get a helmet that is second to none. A top helmet from top riders. This helmet was developed together with the UAE team, led by Tadej Pogačar. To generate even more performance, tests were carried out in the in-house wind tunnel. During development, sensors were used to measure the air flow in order to optimize the aerodynamics. In conjunction with thermal cells, the flow channels of the helmet were designed in such a way that ventilation could be increased by 16% compared to its predecessor while optimizing aerodynamics.
However, none of this would be worth anything if safety was not also a high priority. The Virginia Tech test certifies an excellent result with a 5-star rating. Compared to its predecessor, protection against linear and rotational impact energy, as measured in the Virginia test, has been increased by 40%. Due to the ongoing development of helmets and the ever-improving technologies used in helmets, the requirements for the Virginia Tech test have increased significantly. In order for this generation of the Trenta 3K to master the new requirements with ease, it had to become a little heavier, in this case a little heavier means 25 g more for size S.
Technology
MIPS® AIR technology is the lightest and most advanced safety system for reducing rotational energy. Thanks to a low-friction polycarbonate layer in the padding and innovative connecting elements, the helmet floats on the head and effectively dissipates the rotational forces from the head in the event of a fall. MIPS® AIR is tailor-made for every helmet size and thus achieves optimum fit and performance.
3K Carbon Technology
The construction of the MET Trenta 3K Carbon works better than any other helmet on the market. The research and development team discovered that the modulus of elasticity of the carbon can reduce the density of the EPS foam by 20% without negatively affecting the energy absorption capacity. The result is an extremely light and at the same time better functioning helmet shell that sets a new standard in the manufacture of ventilated helmets.
